Attendance and Makeup Policy

In Response to the COVID-19 outbreak, the Musical Offering has expanded their makeup policy to better serve our students and teachers.

Private Lesson Attendance Policy

  • A student is allowed (1) absence per session with a 24-hour notice, which may be rescheduled by the teacher at a mutually convenient time. Any lesson cancelled with less than a 24-hour notice or no notice at all will be forfeited.

  • All students are expected to attend all scheduled lessons during the session. There are no refunds for forfeited lessons.

  • If a teacher needs to cancel a lesson, either the lesson will be rescheduled at a mutually convenient time or the student will be credited in a future session.

  • The Musical Offering is not responsible for childcare before or after a lesson.

  • During temporary school closures, students are expected to attend lessons with their teachers via our school-wide remote option.

  • The Musical Offering is currently open, however only a select # of teachers are teaching on-site. We are prioritizing on-site learning for students 10 and under, brand new students who have never had a lesson at MO and students who cannot learn remotely. If your teacher has opted to teach remotely during Fall Session, then your Fall Session lessons will be held remotely.

  • In the event that a remote lesson cannot be completed (due to lack of technology or any similar factor), scheduling makeup lessons will be an option if your teacher opts to teach on-site during a future session, OR your teacher may put you in touch with an on-site teacher (if available) to complete the lesson.

  • In the event that all options have been exhausted, including remote lessons and makeup lesson scheduling, we may consider cancelling only lessons that were initially offered remotely. Students will not be able to receive a refund for lessons that are fully available on-site.

Group Classes Attendance Policy
  • During temporary school closures, classes will be rescheduled as makeups to align with dates that the MO is opened.

  • If a teacher needs to cancel a class, either the class will be rescheduled or the student will be credited for the missed class at the end of the session.

  • If a group class is not able to gather remotely, and if a makeup option is not possible, a refund will be offered for any missed classes.

  • Students will not be able to receive a refund for classes that are fully available on-site at the MO
