Young Women's Composition Competition 2021 Winners

We proudly announce the winners of this year's Young Women's Composition Competition!

Evanston, IL (October 11, 2021) - The Musical Offering proudly announces the winners of the 2021 Young Women’s Composition Competition (YWCC). This is an annual competition open to all women, female-identified, and non-binary students ages 12-18 regardless of country. The category for the 2021 competition was music written for piano trio (piano, violin, and cello).

We look forward to presenting the winning entries in a live performance at The Musical Offering (Madison Room) on Saturday, March 5, 2022 at 7:00pm. This performance will feature Musical Offering faculty members Rachel Brown (violin), Veronica Kolegas (cello), and Artistic Director Rick Ferguson (piano). Cash prizes will be awarded at this performance.

Ages 12-14
First Prize: Lost In The Dark by Freyja K Ragnarsson (Nichols Middle School)
Second Prize: Conversations by Mary McDonald (Evanston Township High School)

Ages 15-19
First Prize: The Lore by Sage Marshall (Evanston Township High School)
Second Prize: Horizon Wish by Sadie Clutter (Evanston Township High School)
Third Prize: The Day We Met by Anika Radhakrishnan (Evanston Township High School)
