Ben Woods is a dedicated educator, performing artist, and ministry leader who brings a dynamic blend of creativity, collaboration, and leadership to every endeavor. Originally from Jackson, Mississippi and now based in Chicago, Illinois, he holds a BFA in Theatre with a specialization in Directing from Southern Methodist University (Dallas, TX) and a M.M. in Music Theatre Vocal Pedagogy from Carthage College (Kenosha, WI).

 

With experience teaching, directing, and music directing at both the high school and collegiate levels, Ben fosters inclusive, student-centered environments grounded in exploration and ensemble-driven collaboration. His teaching philosophy is deeply influenced by Cristal Chanelle Truscott’s SoulWork Method, which encourages students to cultivate artistic identity through curiosity, care, and accountability.
