
Junior MO Show
The Musical Offering's musical theater training program for students ages 10-14 who are interested in exploring and developing their musical (vocal and instrumental), acting, and stage presence skills. Howard Godfrey (of ETHS, King Arts, and Musical Offering fame and currently a student at the Berklee College of Music in Boston) is the creator and director of this year's original musical. In the tradition of our high school "MO Show" annual production, students will be involved in bringing to life all aspects of the show, culminating in a final live performance at the Devonshire Theater in Skokie.

Camp Abalanadoo Synopsis
A summer camp for magicians...a strange discovery...weird and fantastic things going on...a mystery to solve! Campers come together to solve the mystery of Camp Abalanadoo with plenty of music and hilarity along the way.

Dates: June 12 - July 20
Rehearsals: Monday, Wednesday, Friday from June 12 - July 14 (6-7:30pm)
Tech Rehearsals: July 17 & 19 (6-7:30pm)
Performance: Thursday, July 20 at 7:00pm

Musical Theatre Summer Lessons with Howard Godfrey
Students ages 11-15 who are interested in singing favorite songs from the musical theater canon or working on their song-writing skills can work with award-winning composer Howard Godfrey. Howard has written three and directed full-length musical theater 'MO Show' productions and is currently studying at the Berklee College of Music in Boston.

Students who want extra support in preparing for auditions, interested in being actively involved in local musical theater programs (including our own Junior MO Show or high school 'MO Show'), or interested in writing their own songs are strongly encouraged to take advantage of this great opportunity!

30 minutes: $18/lesson
45 minutes: $27/lesson
60 minutes: $36/lesson

NOTE: Private lessons with Howard Godfrey are only offered on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays over the summer.

Howard Godfrey
Howard Godfrey is a vocalist, composer and multi-instrumentalist from Evanston, IL. He graduated from Evanston Township High School in 2021 and is currently studying at Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA where he’s pursuing a major in Contemporary Writing and Production with a double minor in musical theatre writing and musical theatre vocal performance.
Throughout is time in high school Howard has written/co-written 5 full length original musical. He has received recognition for several of his musical theatre compositions from the Illinois Musical Education Association Composition Contest. In November of 2021, one of Howard’s compositions, “The Waltz of Adonis & Delilah,” was selected as a winner for the American Musical Theatre Songwriting Challenge, a national musical theatre composition contest for young theatre composers which was organized by the American Theatre Wing — the organization most well known for putting on the annual TONY Awards. His piece was professionally recorded by musicians and released on iHeart Radio Disney in April of 2022.
